  • Enjoy some friendly competition by playing a game or two of volleyball at South Beach, which has nets already hung.
  • Walk along the shoreline looking for sea glass and Wampum. This is a popular expedition for those visiting State Beach. 
  • Go for a swim. The waters at beaches like State Beach are calmer, perfect if you’re visiting with younger children. South Beach’s water is known for large waves, so only strong swimmers are advised to enter.
  • See what lives beneath the surface by snorkeling. When you set off from the beach, you can swim out as far as you’re comfortable.

3. The Seafood Shanty

4. The Wharf

6. Rockfish Edgartown

Just down the street from our hotel is Rockfish. While known for wood-fired pizza and American bites, the menu is full of delicious seafood options. Dine on fried shrimp and honey garlic sauce, pan-seared sea scallops, or grilled Atlantic swordfish. Don’t forget to pair your meal with a glass of wine or cocktail

7. The Port Hunter

Only open seasonally, The Port Hunter is an Edgartown staple. Start your meal off with Maine mussels and an order of oysters. Select from a range of seafood entrees, including a whole fish, the catch of the day, or fish tacos. You can’t go wrong with whatever you pick from the menu
