Martha's vineyard fall beers
Fall beers with the flavors of pumpkin and spice

Sure a cold beer refreshes in summertime, but the staff at the Square has a special affinity for Fall’s heavier microbrews and seasonal ales. These richer, often spicier, beers simply taste like autumn — with hints of cinnamon, chocolate, pumpkin, and pear. Check out these staff favorites from the Vineyard’s own Offshore Ale Company:

Hops Farm Road Pale Ale: Super crisp and less sweet than Offshore’s regular IPA, this beer is made from island-grown hops.

The Great Pumpkin: Offshore uses 150 pounds of fresh pumpkin roasted in the brewery’s wood-fired oven then tossed in their mash tun where it is lightly hopped and spiced.

Octoberfest: A classic lager with slightly sweet malt note balanced with hops

Steeprock Stout: Although offered year-round, this inky stout is a great dark, full-flavored beer for cooler autumn nights.

Tip from GM, Joanne Sardini: “While I like The Great Pumpkin alone, I prefer ‘The Charlie Brown’ – half pumpkin, half stout. YUM!”
